About
Dr. Akiva Elad graduated from the School of Dental Medicine in the Hebrew University and Hadassah In Jerusalem in 1989. He is running a private group practice clinic in Tel Aviv, limited to advanced implantology and esthetic dentistry, using state of the art technology.
He is a board member of the Israeli Association of Oral Implantology and a member of the Israeli and European Associations of Prosthodontics, the Digital Dental society and the Israeli association of Digital Dentistry. He is a Diplomat of the International College of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Elad has been involved in research on the topics of bone regeneration, immediate loading and advanced dental materials and published extensively in the dental and medical literature. He is a member of the NOVAMag by botiss development team since 2014. His current main interest is digital and advanced technologies in dentistry and he serves as a consultant to various technology and startup companies.

The future is here: Clinical cases highlighting different indications of the novel NOVAMag® regeneration system
Hosted by Dr. Akiva Elad, this session will introduce participants to the next generation of dental biomaterial. As one of the original NOVAMag® experts, Dr. Akiva Elad with his vast clinical knowledge contributed to the development of these unique products. For the first time, he will share his clinical expertise in handling the NOVAMag® regeneration system, presenting the application of the NOVAMag® membrane and NOVAMag® fixation screw for different indications. Participants will get the opportunity to learn from his first-hand experience. Possible complications and how to avoid them will be discussed.
During the workshop, participants will have the chance to practice GBR and block augmentation surgeries using the novel magnesium membrane and fixation screws on plastic models.
Clinical cases are presented. These will highlight the use of the biodegradable magnesium metal products in different indications.
By its unique features, the magnesium devices offer a minimally invasive approach for the patient as the implants do not need to be removed in a second surgery. This also benefits dental professionals by cutting down on chair time.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have:
- Learnt about the true benefits of using a resorbable magnesium system
- Become familiar with the magnesium membrane
- Become familiar with the magnesium fixation screw XS-XL
- Be confident in handling the magnesium membrane and magnesium fixation screw XS in a GBR procedure
- Be confident in handling the magnesium fixation screw S-XL for block augmentations
